2025/26 Tyrique George

Its quite clear Moyes has favourites.

Its also clear that McNeil was out the door and yet started ahead of George in a number of games.

Anyone with eyes could see George should have had more gametime than McNeil.

I cant believe you dont think Moyes has favourites.

He didnt pick players on merit all season.
Have you ever managed a squad of players in any sport at a decent level ?

Anybody who has will understand the complexities of putting a team together each week.

We, as fans, really have no idea what is involved in a highly competitive professional sport like football.

I would like to know of someone's sporting credentials when I compare their opinion with that of an experienced manager.

That is a bit of a strange response mate.

You don't need credentials to have opinions.
Whatever you think of Moyes he does carry fundamental flaws, and you don't need to be an experienced Manager to see that.

Not sure why youre on an online football forum if you only want to agree with the manager. It makes discourse redundant.

Perhaps ditch Everton and support David Moyes, like half a dozen posters here have.

I won the Premier League and FA Cup 5 seasons in a row on Kick Off Player Manager.

Moyes is a negative pragmatic dinosaur of a manager.

I am not really annoyed that we haven't made him permanent yet. The club will know if he wants to stay or not, and has several weeks yet to try and negotiate a lower fee with Chelsea. Any club would attempt to drive a fee down, so that's absolutely fine.

My really concern is if we pass up on him at around £20 million. That's Dwight McNeil money, and George is several times the player and about five years younger with a much higher ceiling, certainly huge sell-on potential too.

The longer we negotiate with Chelsea the more likely it is another club will come in and convince George to join them, and it won't be a hard decision to join a Bournemouth or Brentford over us, tbh.

Get the deal done.

If that’s the case shut the forum down if only the opinions of experienced managers at an highly professional sport count
Sorry Danny you’ll have to cancel the 3 weeks in Barbados and head to the labour exchange

Agreed. Am hoping, due to accounting shenanigans that we want to count the purchase from 1st July rather than June, so the deal may be agreed, but will be timed so its simultaneous with the expiry of his loan.

If this is the case, then purely from a fan-fume management, it should be “leaked” to calm everyone down. Angus doesn’t seem to have learned yet that there are pretty obvious ways to manage the Everton fanbase. Saying you are happily dissatisfied or disappointedly ecstatic isn’t one of them. Just words not actions, and not very good ones.

If 'nobody has any idea', you're just assuming it's hard. It might be really easy.

Is he not still a contracted Chelsea player until the end of June?
He's a contracted Chelsea player until June 2027, with a club option for a further year.

He's technically on loan at Everton until end of June 2026, and we negotiated an option to purchase him outright within that time if he wishes to also make it permanent.

Nobody can outbid us during this time as we have already negotiated a fee, which nobody seems to know but is rumoured to be around £20m; it's just whether Everton want to gamble on driving it down, the time running out, and another club coming in for him in July when we have no advantage any more.
