2025/26 Tyrique George

George - getting literally fewer minutes here than he was at Chelsea
Dibling - gone from playing a full season in the prem to barely seen
Röhl - gone from playing when fit at Freiburg to barely seen
Aznou - gone from 'not quite ready yet' at Bayern to 'not quite ready yet' here
Armstrong - gone from playing every week in his position to sub minutes on the wing

Doing a wonderful job at providing a pathway for our players

Nailed it ;)

Couldn’t bring him on in case he made a mistake on the flank. Then the experienced players on the field stood there and allowed Dowman to cross the ball in because Mykolenko didn’t switch on from the throw in.

I’d wager a lad coming on with fresh legs and pace may have had some better concentration than lads who have scrapped for 90 mins.

Just baffling. If we send him on loan to Preston will Moyes play him next season? Seems to be a better qualification for playing for Everton than playing European football for Chelsea is.

McNeil gets picked because he will do the defensive stuff. We have also moved Ndiaye back on the left (he should be there all the time imo) but George is clearly not meeting Moyes strict selection criteria in training, I honestly thought we would have seen a bit more from him by now even if it was just to take the heat off Ndiaye a bit, similar to Dibling I guess.
Think that’s on Moyes
And McNeil didn’t track James v Leeds who scored and then [Poor language removed] out of a 50/50 so I’m not buying it’s about him defending, Moyes plays Harrison Armstrong wide. It’s what Moyes does , surely your wingers are there to help you win the game, not how good defensively they’re

They are when you are a safety first team, even the Grealish's and Ndiaye's are in the team because of what they can do defensively, this is Moyes we are talking about (like you said) Anyway without going off topic Id be surprised if we keep George tbh.

So much about the success or lack of it for players this season comes down to one thing - if Moyes is playing them in their preferred, natural position and selecting our teams based on the situation or comfortability.

McNeil is as left footed as they come. Stuck on the right. Armstrong is great in the middle. JOB is a CB. I don’t think we would necessarily be 2nd or 3rd. But I’ve thought so many times we could consistently be 4th or 5th, with distance below us.

Thought we had a great midfield during AFCON and it was replaced immediately. Even though Patterson isn’t the best, he’s the better option at RB than Jake. On the few occasions Moyes set us up appropriately, much to his chagrin and because circumstances forced him to, the results were instant and positive.

Forgot that Aznou actually made more appearances for Bayern last season than he has for us this season lol

I said at season start that I'd judge Moyes and the signings from January.

Incredibly disappointed with how hes managed the younger players.

It certainly appears as though we could sign R9 and R7 but unless they both worked hard defensively they'd not get a game.

For all we know, Aznou could be a star in the making, Dibling and the others too.
