Barkley. Coleman when he first came in. Declan Rice (in his first stint at West Ham). Just off the top of my head. Had to keep Neville, Hibbert and Noble and Kouyate in. When he did play these players it was often as sub and out of position to accommodate inferior senior pros.
Fairly shanked their careers then, didn't it. Other managers always just pop the 18 year old centre back or the absolute punt from Ireland in every game. It is also clear that you knew more about these players than the manager did, as you do with Aznou or Dibling.

For your criticism to actually work, there would have to be a notable trail of players whose careers were negatively affected by this draconian preference for 32 year olds. But there's a reason James Wallace or Bjarni Vidarsson or Hope Akpan didn't play for Everton. It was because they wouldn't have been good enough.

You could massage the facts if you wanted to make these claims about any manager, trust me. It doesn't hold water.

Mate, I remember Coleman's first season at right back where he made a lot of mistakes in the first half of the season and this forum was almost unanimous in saying he's not good enough. One particular game he gave away a last minute free kick which led to a goal and it was carnage on here.

No qualms with that. It's what forums are for but it just shows how it's a difficult balancing act as a manager. I'd also imagine if you actually asked Rice and Coleman they'd probably be inclined to say Moyes handled their progression well.

….only if George disappoints, let’s not forget Moyes played Armstrong ahead of McNeil at Brighton and brought Dibling on from the bench. McNeil plays ahead of Dibling during AFCON because he was the better option.
I reckon the only reason mcneil didnt play was they thought he could be going
I expect to see a reasonable amount of him for the rest of the season

….disagree, we last saw McNeil against Leeds. His part in their goal was unforgivable, I think the type of thing that really disappoints and annoys Moyes.

He was hooked at half-time and we haven’t seen him since. I’d be sure that’s the reason. I actually doubt Moyes would’ve sanctioned the transfer had it not been for that incident, he’s now got to re-earn the trust of the manager to play a part this season. Over to George.

If he plays him wide right or left it's a waste of time for us and the player. Moyse stubborn nature is his most frustrating trait.
