2025/26 Tyler Dibling

It really couldn't have gone much worse. Nevermind goals or assists, the lad barely kicked a ball. His performances in his limited opportunities were definitely not good, and Sunderland was abysmal, but there must be something else to it.

He's going to need to really hit the ground running in pre season or he might not even have a future here next season.
Think Moyes lost faith in him after the wolves game in the cup. The was talk he was very homesick and hated been stuck in the titanic hotel. The club or his family had to bring his car up from home so he could go out and not be stuck in a hotel all the time. Apparently he’s very shy and wasn’t integrating with the squad when he first signed.

Feel for the lad. Wouldn’t be surprised if he’s gone in the summer.

Was used as a sub a bit in the first half of the season and played a lot over Christmas, but just 1 minute since January. I know he didn't look good but it's bizarre that he's just on the bench while McNeil got plenty of game time.

Right now it's such an abysmal transfer it makes me angry. For a club in our position to have seemingly wasted £40m is scandalous. I hope to God he starts pre season well enough to at least be an option in the squad.

I think it was the Sunderland cup tie. Dibling had played a few games over Christmas before that, but then put in a fairly dreadful performance in the FA cup. He didn't just play poorly, he didn't even put in a shift or challenge for the ball.

I think Moyes gave him about 5 more minutes the rest of the season after that. It was a very bad performance abd I understand any manager being concerned, but you still need to eventually give the lad another chance.

Today was an obvious time to do it but that would have been far too risky for Davey.

Very appropriate game to lose faith in Tyler.

Because that was the game where many of us lost faith in Moyes after a promising start in the league.

While I know it's not always possible to predict how someone's going to handle such a big move at a young age, you do get the vibe that more could have been done to foresee this was going happen. This wasn't a hope for the best £5m signing. It was the biggest business we've done in years.

It makes Moyes hypocritical. O'Brien, Myko, McNeil, Rhol, and more recently Illy, KDH haven't exactly impressed but they continue to be played or come on as sub. Moyes is sticking and very rarely twists and this is the reason we win, lose, draw, win, lose draw. He hasn't got a solution he just sticks

It was a bad move all around. The long delay of negotiations with Southampton, the fact he was about 6th choice for the RW position, the lack of pre-season.

For the player, it’s been a bad move too. The lack of playing time and development will set him back massively.

We took months scouting and tracking him, then trying to sign him. Plenty of time to do our homework on his physical attributes as well as mentality. Big transfer fee followed by rumours about not settling and not working hard enough in training and basically a season on the bench. The whole deal just doesn’t stack-up 🤷‍♂️ Hope it works out soon for him and us or time to move on for both parties.

Could see a new manager coming in, starting him and telling everyone to accept he will have dips. Player says the manager has given me confined etc etc. That’s the only scenario this works out.

No new manager, should be sold for his own benefit.

Have to say, Moyes and the club must take blame for not foreseeing this, and the player should at least have bust a gut when given a chance. But his agent has a duty of care over the client. I don’t know anything about the lads family. But surely his “team” should not be facilitating moves hundreds of miles away if they could see how it would affect him?

Not going to blame the kid for wanting to be a superstar footballer whilst also being too timid to move home, integrate with new people. I mean, that’s how football works so he must have known he’d have to deal with these things.

His team have no obligation to Everton if we were willing to buy him, but if he is that uncomfortable, did no one consider the kid?
