2025/26 Tyler Dibling

He has only been 20 for 4 days !!

Maybe that tough love is why he's now seeing more in him..
I’m not criticising the lad for being 20 and contributing absolutely nothing at all of any note. Nothing. I’m criticising the club for spending that amount of money on a player that might possibly maybe be ready for some pre season minutes after we’ve burned 1 whole year of his contract wandering round the hotbed of rondo excellence that is Finch Farm, when we could have picked up any raw fast random young winger (like other clubs seem to have done without any issue at all) and spent the difference on a full back (which coincidentally is also done by other clubs with relative ease).

And despite our obsession with players being “ready” and “settling” and “getting used to the speed of the PL”, the current league leaders have given minutes to a 15 year old. There’s no denying that Diblings failure to be the straight replacement for Ndiaye during AFCON shows his integration has been a disaster. Then when we lose our other winger, we instead start McNeil or a central midfielder who is younger than Dibling ahead of him on the wing.

Gloss over it and say he’s one for the future all we like, there’s no way the club expected this little impact in season 1. The player is what he is, and as long as he gives his all every day, he is beyond reproach for me, same for any player. But the club got too excited and bought a prospect when we needed a starter, and spent started money because someone randomly said he would cost £100million.

Maybe watch him pre-Everton before making a daft post like this.

Its clear that 1/10 of those saying he wasnt the right signing have seen him play before he signed.

I'm excited to read all the same posts in the Aznou thread from the same posters who also havent seen Aznou.

Oh wait. There arent any.

There may be 1million reasons behind Dibling not replicating his previous form, showcasing his ability and mimicking the talent that Southampton, multiple other club scouts, top coaches and all the England youth sides found to be exceptional.

The common denominator with Alcaraz, Rohl, Aznou, Patterson, O'Brien and others is Moyes.

It doesn't help your point putting Patterson in these lists all the time, he's demonstrably not very good.

Its not so much about if ANY players I mentioned are any "good".

It's about Moyes dropping them after they had a good game.

I’m a Moyes fan but in fairness, there’s absolutely no way that Patterson should be on the bench when JOB is playing right back so he’s got a valid point on that one

Precisely

Did Patterson have a good game against Leeds?

In comparison to Coleman or OBriens games?

Did Gana deserve to get brought straight back in after slapping Keane?

Did Gana deserve to get brought straight back in after AFCON?

Did Rohl having his first impact against Villa deserve to be dropped?

Doesnt really matter what take you have on things as nothing is changing my mind that players arent used on merit.

Aznou is another who has been treated disgustingly.

I've always hated this. I mean, it's 100% true that you have to play well in training but there are many many maaaaaany times we've seen players be absolutely cack on the pitch. THAT'S where it counts. Why does it matter how well you train during the week if you are abysmal week in week out on the pitch?

I assume if one is crap in training there isn’t much confidence they’re going to magically change it up in a game.
