2025/26 Tyler Dibling

….so play him as a 10 and he turns into Le Tissier, well it makes a change from Alcaraz as no10

At the start of the season I thought it'd be a good way to get him on the pitch, but there's no way I'd play Dibling as a 10 right now.

It's one of the most difficult positions on the pitch to play in and he'd just get bullied by any centre half or defensive mid. The game would completely pass him by.

I wonder how many times he received the ball back to goal with their left back on him when the only option was to pass it backwards.

I think he got the ball with 3 or 4 players around him on the right a couple of times facing forwards and lost the ball cheaply once.

Looked much better than Rohl & McNeil when he was popping up inside.

Not sure comparing his mentality to Aznou makes sense. Aznou came in angry, Dibling is probably devoid of confidence and playing as Moyes has told him.

He and Alcaraz look to be totally different players to the mavericks they were last season. Clearly its under instruction. Could say the same as Grealish as well who also seems to play within himself.

Some players need a chance like Aznou and others need several starts to play themselves into form.

Its almost childlike that some posters dont know this.

Hahaaha what does "at the ground" have to do with anything.

You've just described Jack Grealish every single game

That is EXACTLY what Grealish does all game every game.
Have you ever considered a change of career Zat?

That Shoab Bashir isn't doing well for the England cricket team and the Government always need a special advisor.

Yeah looks like spin is something that you do well.

I suggest you go and watch the Arsenal v saints game from last season. He was amazing that day. He looked fast and able to beat anybody.

Can't believe peeople are writing off a 19 yr old
Well as I'm not a subscriber to either of their streaming sites I could only see the highlights. He made one run beating one man and put in an okay pass that was put over the bar, other than that he didn't feature in the highlights. Nothing amazing to see and certainly nothing amazing shown since we bought him. Think a loan to a Championship side would do him the world of good.

Either that or he could try becoming a contortionist because the amount of twisting and bending here is obscene.

Takes some serious mental agility to blame Moyes for both Diblings lack of effort and application and Aznou coming on and showing effort and application.

Really inspired stuff.

Just so blinded by your hatred for the manager that it can't be anything other than the manager holding these players back.

It couldn't possibly be that Dibling is a 19 year old lad struggling to adapt after a big money move to a new environment or that Alcaraz isn't actually as good as you think he is hence no one else was really being interested in buying him despite the low price tag. And of course Grealish sometimes being off colour couldn't be down to him being completely isolated due to the fact he has one of the worst attacking full backs in the league behind him.

Maybe a new manager would transform the games of Dibling and Alcaraz, but you really should entertain the possibility they just aren't playing well right now due to their own shortcomings as well.

I'd make a killing.

Theres one poster who has been gleefully commenting for months that Dibling has mental problems. They stopped when he had a cameo and now who knows what their motivator is.

Another poster who jokes that Dibling should be used in a 10 (which has been his actual position for years as a youth player) because he's apparently crap.

Third poster with the same viewpoint thinks Dibling would be bullied in the 10. Despite grown men not being able to get the ball off him last season.

Theres heaps saying the recruitment of Dibling was dreadful. Yet an England u21 player at 19 who was the equivilent of Armstrong last season seems to be the ideal signing.

Other posters seem to equate "running around" with level of quality. Yet they hate Rohl in equal measure.

Of course theres more who wont have a bad word said about the manager despite clear evidence with Dibling, Aznou, Alcaraz and lets say O'Brien have all been used and dare i say mismanged by Moyes.

Interesting how others say his previous managers are dreadful yet he performed well for Martin & Carsley.

Not sure a spin doctor is needed. Maybe a spin class so these oddballs can lose some weight and meet some women.

….i think it’s more that the demands of the no10 position has changed significantly since Le Tissiers day.

Regardless of club, regardless of manager the physical demands on players is much greater, be it in wide positions (SAF changed that with Giggs and Beckham) or a no10 who has to do much more behind the ball when the opposition has possession.

For all his failings, we had Doucoure doing the donkey work for years but now we have the significant upgrade in KDH who also puts in the hard yards but with much more quality.

If we’re talking about the role at Everton, it’s more KDH than Le Tissier.

With the possible exception of Cole Palmer there are no pure 10s like Hoddle or Le Tissier anymore, at least in the English game.

A lack of effort and team work will only be accommodated where the exceptional talent of a player outweighs all other considerations and dictates that the team should be built around him. But even that carries risks if injury or loss of form intervenes.

The type of 10 we have now are the likes of Morgan Rogers whose work ethic is as high as anyone else on the team AND has buckets of talent to play between the lines.

I'm not convinced that Dibling has either.

Double down, you absolutely love to see it. Incredible stuff Zat.

Lets say for example that Dibling could be that player.

How does giving him no time, then hooking him as early as possible in games over Rohl & McNeil help his confidence?

We know those types of 10s are all about confidence, even arrogance. Not demotivated and not the types to think "id better prove myself here" as Aznou did yesterday.

People and especially young people are all different. Some need confidence and others need competion. Some need a slap and others need a cuddle.

If he was to be the next Le Tissier, Palmer or who knows what then you have to show him the love. Keep him enjoying his football and motivated.

Its clear hes not the type to charge around like a headless chicken for Moyes. In our game against them last season be was on the edge and some posters thought he might get a red as he was going after our players.

Aznou - angry. Something to prove.
Dibling - no confidence
Alcaraz - not playing his game & no confidence
Armstrong - Superb

Who is the odd one out here?

Double down, you absolutely love to see it. Incredible stuff Zat.

We should never have bought this lad when we have no right back and no first choice centre forward. I said it at the time. We need 17 first team regulars first before we start thinking about buying development projects.

Its come out that we had a budget of £200mil in the summer.

Boyland & Joyce confirmed Thelwell had lined up Truffert & Wesley last January.

Its absolute nonsense to say that Dibling money or any signings money should have gone elsewhere.

We had signings lined up and money to spend.

Moyes chose not to.

I don't really care who did what, I care about us having such a thin first team squad. As we've seen, a couple of injuries and we basically can't beat anybody, which is a precarious situation to be in
