2025/26 Tyler Dibling

Perhaps he's thinking he's likely to be back on the bench again next week so doesn't want to take any risks or make silly passes and lose the ball when he could play safer simple stuff that keeps the numbers looking good on the stats pages? Who knows.
He will be on the bench next week as we have 2 x better wingers available. After next week he has to prove that he is more reliable than McNeil to start for 4-6 weeks. He needs to take any chance he gets.
Did one great little bit yesterday. Would love to see more

Ndiaye plays in his position and is our best player.

I don’t care how good the lad is or might become, he’s not getting a start.

Now at what point could he come on… basically when Ndiaye is knackered and hopefully he’s done his job so we need to defend… well I personally think that’s a terrible time to bring on a young confidence needing winger - what if he makes a mistake defensively (not his strong point) and costs us points?

I’d only be playing him in cup games, games we don’t have Ndiaye and games that are finished… unfortunately we don’t score enough to have games finished with half hour to go so yesterday was the wrong end of that.

Now with this in mind and the fact we have no right back and no goalscorer you have to ask why we spent 70 odd million on him and Barry who both have good potential but aren’t up to what you could buy for that kind of money elsewhere.

That’s not Dibling’s fault or Barry’s fault and both of them could be future stars for us but Dibling especially felt like a good signing for someone like Chelsea who already have loads of depth and can afford to have a future star on their books getting money and slowly getting up to speed, not us.

I think when we’ve not really consistently played particularly well this season, there are options for Moyes to mix things up to get him on the pitch.
Skilliman is indeed our best player, but I’m not sure he’s being played in his best position, or at the very least if he would be less effective elsewhere.
Why not play Garner at right back, drop KDH in to a deeper midfield position and make room for Dibling on the right, with either Grealish or Skilliman at 10 / on the left?

I know some kind soul will provide the "proof" from tippytappy.com or footybollocks.co.uk to say otherwise but Dibling is not and never has been a winger.

I base this opinion on having watched pretty much every min he played at Soton.

Makes me wonder if our recruitment team bothered to do the same.

I think the curse of expectation and frustrations at lack of performance will conspire to ensure he doesn't make it at Everton.

What position would you say he was?

Think he was signed before someone else took a punt and we were out of the chain.
I hope he hasn't been signed to cushion the loss of Ndiaye.
I hope Ndiaye doesn't go to city cheap and with Grealish as a makeweight this way.
This could be a bout of prime paranoia.

Looked very good when he came on yesterday imo. Moyes hasn't handled his situation correctly. Very stubborn. Fact that he was only brought on yesterday with 15 minutes to go sums us his situation.
Had we not spoilt the menu with the wolves epl game, he'd have gotten used in the cup.
Ndiaye goes Afcon in a month. But so does Gana.

Yes, but he will be asked to come into the team and do well despite barely playing from August all the way to December. He hasn't had a chance to prove himself and I find it baffling how people are calling him a flop.

Nail on head, Rita.

I have been thinking this for a while.

EFC will cash in on Illy next summer and Dibling be given the right wing position IMO.
