Moyes vindicated for not making panic buys last Jan and that gives me confidence in his decision making.
If we spend 150m it likely means Dibling plus 1 more purchase. More positions resolved.
Next summers cash will be fuelled by toffee doughnut sales, which will go a long way we we are shopping in the trendy young player European market
"Panic buys" ?
How has
Moyes been "vindicated" for not allowing the signing of Wesley, a Brazilian international right back with numerous club and personal awards?
What do you mean "more positions resolved" ?
The positions that needed improvement have been ignored.
The idea of paying over the top for a young lad with potential is that you are taking all the risk in the hope that you might one day be able to recoup some of that money back so as to not put the business at risk. Agreeing to also give some of that money back to the club that already received an excessive fee with no risk to themselves would just be really poor business. It's simple really, if Southampton want a share of any profits made then fine, lower the asking price to something more reasonable and less risky. That is why Everton wont agree to the current deals on the table because it would be poor business on their behalf. The high price negates the need for a sell on fee.
The idea is that he becomes world class and takes the team into the champions league.
He has the potential as unlikely as it may be, thats why hes got the English added value on top. Hes got a lot more than those moving for around £35-40mil
I think Wesley was a lazy link,
I doubt we were getting him
We could have had fellows and the winger from Lyon but Moyes pulled the plug.
I thought the same until one of the reliable chaps named Wesley as being of interest back in Jan - i had assumed it was just a link.
May have been Joyce or Bobble. Cant remember but it was an eye opener. Around the same time the Fellows big reveal of only being £8mil.
