We currently have no right sided attacking players in our squad. It should not be difficult to find someone who can improve us and would like to join.Maybe, but who are all these top players lining up to come to a club that has had points deductions, ongoing battles with relegation and countless changes of management? So that part of any best laid plan is instantly out of the window. Also isn't there a little rule about tapping up?
Even when a player wants to come to you, lets say Mbeumo as an example things are still far from gaurenteed and can drag on for months.
I think they've got their targets wrong from the start. Far too much time spent on players who did not want to join or a deal like Dibling where the fee doesn't make sense.
We should have known what deals were possible a month ago. Or at least had a better idea. It's just a poor strategy to expect deals to get better for the club if we wait into August. The Dibling deal certainly shows that was a wrong view to take.
