In June Southampton were quoting 100mil also we were never buying anyone for that price in June, in reality our window has been open a month. And players like McAtee, Kubo and Forfana were ahead of dibbling in the pecking order

I'm not sure why anyone would think that. That only happens for players who are clearly not wanted by their clubs. When you want good players, leaving it to late on is a certain way to end up spending more and potentially buying the wrong players as you get desperate.

I didn't appreciate the CEO saying everything was on track when it was quite clear from the manager's comments that it wasn't. Actions matter more than words.

He could well do mate. Sigurdsson to me was an anomaly. There was no way he was worth the amount we paid for him. Prices have increased since then and Dibling is young and English. I’d be willing to see the club take a chance on him but maybe they have a ceiling they’re not prepared to go above. Although probably all negotiating tactics in the media.
