TWO STRIKERS UP FRONT

I have no problem with the formation we use, it's suits us, but I agree, Moyes should consider using two forwards at times, just to mix things up a little bit and keep teams guessing. Especially against lesser teams.

Its well established Beckford only works up front with a partner

So why not play 4-4-2 with the yak

With silva or vaughan to come on if needed - but then again, moyes the genius let Vaughan go out on loan despite us being short of options.

We have the players, we dont hav a manager who is capable of identifying a week opposition (Brentford and Fulham) who are their for the taking - and going for it.

Once again, the problem lies with Moyes.

Grow up....Caps are only in the title...FFS....I don't know where some of you get off...I am trying to make valid points and all I get is abuse cos 1...I criticise Moyes & 2..I use caps...Get a life people...

I don't care that you're criticising Moyes. I am too. But people will take me, and all those who are criticising Moyes, less seriously when people who make their points like you do, are criticising him too.

Try and:

1.) Not use caps all the time
2.) Think about what you're saying, and how it might be read, before you post it.

Does it really?

When has Vaughan played with Yakubu up front in a 4-4-2?

When has he played Beckford with Yakubu up front in a 4-4-2? When has 4-4-2 ever worked for Everton in the last 7 years?

4-5-1 just suits the players. We had most of our success under it. Beckford has looked hopelessly out of his depth and whilst giving him support may help, he may just not be able to cut it in the big league. Silva may not be ready either. Moyes sees them every day in training - he knows if they are knocking on the door of the first team or woefully off the pace. Just because they are on the team sheet doesn't mean they are some magical solution to all our ills.

People were calling for Gueye the other day, neatly avoiding that he was anonymous against league 2 brentford.
Beckford had the same amount of time and service as Yakubu against Newcastle, yet he didn't muster a single shot all game.

Going 4-4-2 isn't a silver bullet. It could lead to even more losses than wins.

And fulham have never been weak opposition at home.

Moyes ballsed his subs up at Fulham though...

He took Cahill off for a midfielder and put him out wide, where's he's ineffective.

Cahill should've been taken off, but it was a case of you either go defensive to not conceed or make it attacking.

Everyone else on the pitch - Yak, Coleman, Pienaar etc were playing very well so their was no need to sub them. Cahill needed to be subbed, either for another striker or an attacking midfielder....

But its about playing the cards right. We didnt lose, so its a bonus.

neonleon

we had a Leeds fan on this board telling us whenever Beckford was up front by himself it was a disaster, in the end Grayson played Bechio up front alone as Beckford was useless without a partner.

we have ever seen vaughan and yakubu up top so none of us would know.

when has 4-4-2 ever worked in the past 7 years?
Never, because we have never played it. We have a manager who is tactically clueless and never changes the system, just the personnel.

I have never caled for Gueye, I was at Brentford and he left alot to be desired.

4-4-2 Could lead to more losees? More than 4-5-1 is at the moment?

Im sorry, but I feel your refusing to question our genius manager when the facts and stats tell us he deserves the criticism.

So what if the lad uses Caps, maybe we can discuss the points he is making and not looking for reasons to criticise him.

I don't really know the lad, but I'm looking at all the red cards and thinking, what has this lad done? If he's getting red cards for using Caps then its not really a true reflection on his opinions, as already people are looking at him as a bit of a weapon, which may or may not be the case.

As for the thread, I believe that 2 strikers isn't the answer when we already have a midfield that is saturated with attacking players. If we have 2 defensive midfielders and 1 striker then that is stretching the gaps between defence and attack, rather than bridging it.

We have players who can get into the box, we have players who can cross. We score many goals from set pieces when there are several players in the box. Having 2 I think would not work with this squad. You need partnerships, and can anyone see a partnership up front?

I can't.

He got the reds for calling for the manager's head. Consistent name calling towards the manager and calling him a [Poor language removed] , and ****ging off anyone who supports Moyes on these forums.

As you can see its proven very popular.
