TV Series

Just finished Narcos: Mexico.

Took a bit of time getting used to the slightly new style compared to the other series. It almost seemed more, I'm not sure really, a bit more 'action movie' than the other seasons, but still definitely within that world.

But really, really enjoyed it. Watched the other 3 seasons again over September and this new one is certainly my favourite since the 1st. The acting is superb (Luna and Pena especially), and they get the 80s Mexico vibe spot on.

Thanks for that, next on my list.

Informer on BBC 1 turned out to be very good in the end and it looks like another one could be on the cards.

The previously unkown - Nabhaan Rizwan, who played one of the leads alongside Paddy Considine, has got future star written all over him.

He hasn`t even got a wiki page, that`s how unknown he is.
Couldnt get into this, usually enjoy these types of drama. Might watch it again though.

Watched the first episode of : Tin Star last night. ( just started on C4 )

The reviews had been patchy, some saying it was slow and ponderous.

I thought it was excellent, dark as anything with a real sense of menace and foreboding running all the way through it.

Tim Roth is excellent in the lead and the setting in rural Canada is stunning.
Its not as bad as some critics make out, though at the end I felt like they had missed something out,it felt not quite right, stunning scenic shots throughout though, agree about Roth ever since seeing him in "Made in Britain"

Not a TV series as such, but im addicted to watching this thing on youtube at the moment called 'Project Binky' If you don't like cars then don't watch it. Basically these 2 guys have got a battered up old Mini and are trying to put the engine and 4wd system from a Toyota Celica into it. The level of fabrication and metalwork they have done is just mindblowing, they have made pretty much most of the required parts from scratch so far. I love watching all that lathe stuff and one day im determined to learn to use one. Anyone who likes cars or just DIY or making stuff should check this out, it's also done in a Naked Gun style so it's pretty funny most of the time.
