knightfall episode 1....awful
It wasn't exactly thrilling was it Zat? I was a bit let down.

I also didn't quite catch the transition between leaving Acre and then all of a sudden they were in Paris. They could have done with showing a bit of the journey. They kind of just threw it all at the audience with very little explanation of who or what the Templars are. They elaborated a bit of the conflict between the King of France and The Templars but they did a crap job introducing us to the characters imo.

Vikings was boss though.

There's a new one me and the missus watched last night called Happy which has Christopher Meloni(From Law and Order fame) in it playing an ex-cop living as an alcoholic tramp with a death wish who gets found by the imaginary friend of a little girl who has been kidnapped and asked to help find her. It looks like it is going to be a mental one, think Crank vs Death To Smoochy.

Also, I just discovered Scot Squad which is brilliant.

Let down being a massive understatement for anyone who didn't watch it.

I think with a bit of cash (not much) we could have done a better job...as long as a story is good then I'm not so bothered about the visuals but this was awful all round...why bother making something so slapdash.

Anything of a similar subject matter you can recommend?

Nah, nobody touches this time period because of the cost Zat. You have to have loads of money for real-looking costumes of armour and mail that's what has been the biggest factor preventing it being covered.

Also, it is kind of hard to properly film a knight's perspective of battle and make it interesting to a viewer because as we saw last night when they did it, everything is seen through a narrow slit.

I thought the battle scenes they had were alright, I didn't think the visuals were too bad but I found the characters completely uninteresting and the dialog filled with boring exposition.

I don't want to slate it too bad because I've been looking forward to this for nearly two years. I was worried when it kept being delayed from getting released.

The main actor reminds me of that kickboxer guy whose been in a few movies...Scott Adkins. He seems 'ok' but the rest are dreadful, like from an amateur company.

When you watch it, it is surprising to imagine these people actually got paid to trot this out.

Have you watched 'oz' if you are a Christopher meloni fan, that's him at his best, in a great series

Luke Cage season one. I wasn't sure that the Luke Cage character had enough depth to take the lead on his own tv series and I thought they'd of been better off leaving him on Jessica Jones but you know what? I really enjoyed it. Great action, acting and storytelling. Recommended.
