TV Series

If that policewoman hadnt resigned and subsequently exposed the true extent of the crimes and cover ups by all the authorities involved, you'd never had got the public enquiry that followed or the investigations in other parts of the country.

Abolutely shocking that nobody lost their jobs over this other than the policewoman who resigned and the social worker who did most to expose the problem.

Hopefully the drama will lead to a proper and full investigation now.

It beggars belief that not one person was ever held to account for ignoring / covering up the knowledge of what was going on, before the investigation started properly.

The elephant that still remains in the room is " racism " unfortunately and it would appear that this is / was a key factor in heads going into the sand.

I thought the programme played that particular elephant down a bit tbh which I can understand in a way. There was the odd reference such as BNP boosted thugs outside the court. But markedky no racial undertones in any of the police or sicual services scenes, when in reality Im pretty certain there would have been.

But thats another can of worms that, once opened, is likely to cover a lot more than sexual grooming.

Quick question. Is it essential to watch The Wire in order. The missus is on season 2 which I have seen. Can I jump to 5 so as to watch 3 and 4 with her without missing something major ?

Season 2 is pretty self contained - I've always thought you could jump straight from 1 to 3. If you went straight to 5 you'd probably wonder who a few of the characters were though, and what had gone on.

Cheers Gentlemen.I thought with 2 being centralized around the docks it might be possible to skip a few as the story lines maybe different.I well be patient and wait for her to catch up.

I put Netflix on and spend about 25 mins scrolling through the ten billion series, then turn the iPad off and go akip
