There's supposedly, an advert or something for the Super Bowl. Probably on US tv though, so we'll probably have to wait for it.

Just got around to watching the second series of Fortitude (i'm around 5 episodes in). Love it. As good as, if not better than the first series. IMHO.
There is a lot going on, I don't blame you as me and the missus are having trouble following along with everything too. I've put what I think is going on in the spoiler below.Struggling to keep track of what's going on in this programme. I love the filming and will continue to watch to the end, but I am a little baffled.
I've only watched 4 episodes, haven't read your spoiler but would like to - what episode are you up to?There is a lot going on, I don't blame you as me and the missus are having trouble following along with everything too. I've put what I think is going on in the spoiler below.
I see it like this. Delaney Jr was working for the East India Company running illegal shipments of slaves, either as a result of a slave uprising or bad sailing they wrecked the sloop they were on. Delaney Jr ends up in Africa and is held captive, eventually becomes part of the tribe and learns a fair bit of black magic. He makes his way back to London just after the East India Company has killed his father, Delaney Sr.
Delaney Sr travelled the world negotiating trade in competition with the East India Company, one of the deals he negotiated was for the land rights to a place called Natka Sound on the West coast of the Americas in between the USA and Canada border which is currently being negotiated between the USA government and the Crown in Genk, Belgium. Delaney Sr's deal with the Native Americans grants him the land if he can pay for it with Gunpowder as per the terms of the treaty.
Both the Americans and the English Crown want Natka Sound as a shipping base between the western Americas and the orient to support the economies of the colonies out there. The East India Company wants to purchase the land to secure their monopoly for trade from India and the Orient, currently they run the few trade routes between English colonies and the far east. The Americans understand how valuable this will be to their new country's economy and the English Crown wants to prevent the Americans from growing stronger while the East India Company just wants to protect their monopoly.
So now Delaney Jr has told the East India Company he won't sell the land to them and they want to kill him because in the event of his death the rights to the land will pass to his father's widow who they can bully into selling. Delaney Jr knows he needs gunpowder to secure his right to this valuable land and so he sets about stealing the ingredients for gunpowder from the EIC. The Americans have a spy network in England that is familiar with what Delaney is doing and is willing to negotiate a trade monopoly for Chinese Tea with Delaney if he agrees to bring Natka Sound into American Territory through the negotiations in Genk. I'm not entirely sure on how the Crown intends to secure the land from Delaney but I think that has covered most of it.
How are you watching 5 epis, hasnt only 1 been aired?
Ermmm the latest but I don't think anything I've written has spoiled anything past number 4, it is just a run down of what I think is going on from the first few episodes and what each side is after. No big details about what's happened just what they want.I've only watched 4 episodes, haven't read your spoiler but would like to - what episode are you up to?
Sky+ box downloads the next episode whilst you are watching on planner
Just read your summary and I think you're bang on. Perhaps I understood more than I thought as I saw it much like you did. My confusion came largely from what the East India Company and the Crown were fighting over, and what Stephen Graham's crew are all about.Ermmm the latest but I don't think anything I've written has spoiled anything past number 4, it is just a run down of what I think is going on from the first few episodes and what each side is after. Graham's crew are just a street gang looking for whatever work comes their way and Delaney has money to pay them.Just read your summary and I think you're bang on.
