TV Series

Finished The Americans. Brilliant series but not keen on the ending. Great soundtrack throughout the series too, surprisingly 90%+ UK 80s bands. The late 70s early 80s was my era, but I don't remember our acts being that popular over in the US at the time.

Going to concentrate on The Shield now. Seen the first 2 episodes a couple of months ago and looks like the sort of series I'm going to love. Might start Kin too. Anything else recommended? Anything good on Disney plus recently.? Seen Silo already.

Watching the X-Fikes again from the start on Disney. Considering it’s years old it still stands up today. A good cult series, just loads of episodes to get through.
I watched it all through including the films over the last year (having been too young when it first came out). Really enjoyed it, but found it dragged a little in the mid-to-later series but then picked up again (ended up taking a break from it for a for months). But then the reboot was pretty poor.
Years behind everyone else but started watching shameless tonight … watched 5 episodes… it’s ok but not as good as most say it is … I’ll persevere though
UK or US? I enjoyed the UK version when I was a bit younger, but prefer the US version now. Even though I couldn’t stick the US version to the end. Think I stopped watching around season 9 when Emmy Rossum left.

Fancying some more dystopian TV series/films in my life, what you recommending people? I've seen a lot of it so looking for more obscure/older choices.

On my list so far:

Snowpiercer series (loved the film, couldn't get into the show first time)
Twisted Metal
Handmaid's Tale
Man in the High Castle
Fifth Element

Snowpiercer wasnt great, but enjoyable enough.

Fifth Element is cheesey and fun and that bird is half naked for most of the film so 5 Zats out of 5.

Emmerdale ?

Small cast who all inter-marry, have affairs and end up killing one another.
