I'm trying to take a look at who was the best English language Maigret. Atkinson and Gambon are okay,but for me the Scouser has it in the bag.

I’ve been watching both and had the choice this week one night. It was easy, Rings all the way. There’s just enough faithful stuff to make connections with the real stories. Especially when it’s been so long since I read all the books. It’s just a better show than HoD, each episode holds your interest. HoD is just a bit meh. I like it don’t get me wrong but I’m looking forward to RoP all week but not HoD.

My wife has already given up on Rings and I'm on the fence. I feel like I need to give it longer but other than an odd flicker of something potentially exciting I'm struggling to hold interest. Maybe I'll try another episode. HoD was a slow burner but seems to have kicked into life. I'm definitely looking forward to the next episode as is the missus.

Watched the first episode last night, what a sick and sadistic human.

Of all the modern serial killers, Dahmer seems to get a lot more sympathy then most - he doesn’t seem to follow the normal psychopath narrative. He’s often referred to as a monster (his crimes were monstrous), but he’s not often referred to as evil. He seems to have been a very damaged individual, the product of a bleak upbringing, but he does demonstrate emotion, albeit very badly skewed, and channelled. I mean, he killed at least 17 men in gruesome fashion, so he’s no innocent, but he does seem to be looked upon differently to the likes of Bundy, Ramirez, etc.

Probably a bit the opposite for me right now. ROP has a few too many annoying bland sub characters. Enjoying both though.

Watched the documentary The Bling ring last night about the teenagers robbing the houses of celebs in Hollywood Paris Hilton, Lyndsey Lohan, Orlando Bloom.
Mad, Crazy how easy it was.
