TV Series

Rewatched season one.

The main thing which was 'borderline' annoying was that Yen is referred to as some kind of amazing beauty...yes, great body but some masculine features.

Id have expected someone like Alice Eve to be cast as a 'beauty' if thats what they were going for. Great actress though.

Season two seemed pretty boring and tame in comparison...the Nilfgard witch is distractingly ugly...

...Yen seems to have lost her make up yet shes still 'a beauty' apparently. Triss is cast as a very feeble boring person which is also off putting.

Casting multiple rough birds is really off putting throughout.

Aside from that and one or two unnecesary storylines id give it a solid 8/10 for season one and 7/10 as a generous rating for season two.

Improve the casting.

Agree with what you're saying about the casting. Even though they changed her hair color, Triss is still just...grey. Boring, as you said. Personally I actually liked season 2 more than the first.

A highlight for me was seeing Novigrad in the series for the first time, it felt just like in the games. Great stuff. Same goes for Kaer Morhen.

A bit pissed off that they
killed of Eskel immediately. That decision just makes no sense
.

Ya that’s fair… I’m pretty lenient on the series as a massive Witcher game fan and I can see they really trying.. Yen took a while to hold up to the game Yen but the final episode of season 1 she was superb and has been able to bring more of that raven haired hotness to the screen as the series moved on.. so she gets a tick from me.

Anyone wondering why Triss has been such a let down for the fans of the games just need to see this.. besides being a powerful strong femme

Not played or seen the characters in the games.

One look at the Triss from the game and its clearly the opposite of what were seeing on the tv series.

That picture tells a thousand words compared the the blubbering wreck of a cry baby were treated to....

...they mentioned her 'scars' from the battle as the reason why she was shy to get in the pool with the 3 other witches...they went full 180 and decided to make her a lamb.

That added alot more spice to season 1 and while i think alot were expecting this...

...we got this:

Without the nudity and more violence its really quite a bland show...because of the boring characters.

Ok Gomorra (S5) is still ace but the storyline is starting to stretch like Ciro’s waistline. Genny fumes up his screentime, quietly dissecting every location he frequents, constantly supressing the need to just murder everyone. Ciro, the immortal,
newly alive
, engages in a battle for the streets with Genny. Its great game of one-upmanship on both sides. What essentialy is a show about people going to, coming from, and either standing or sitting around a series of meetings in different parts of town hasn’t lost a beat. Throw in some new characters, as we have either bumped off or are probably planning to bump off pretty much all the supporting cast, some action, a twin love story, and the second coming of jesus with Home Simpsons silouette. I’m still annoyed at Patricia to be honest. Sure
she’s dead
but she had a great chance just to get the F out of there.

Still as brilliantly shot as ever, the camera crane gets a ripper workout trawling through decrepit streets, epic locations, layered, bruised, gucci tracksuited glock toting Neopolitans making the most of the hands they are dealt, greed, desperation, and an inevitability as forlorn as the piano notes that always lead to one outcome. An undefined end from a creshendo of the repetitive circle of violence, death and rebirth.

Personally think the series is better if I know zat isn’t whacking off over every episode

Four episodes left for me to watch which in all probability means I'll be done with it by the end of Boxing Day.
It's hardly end of your seat stuff, you could say same old, same old. I'm in agreement with you on the filming though. Having been in Naples a good few times you can almost smell the decay of the place through the tight filming.
Not saying I'm not enjoying it but they've done right by bringing the series to an end.

Just finished the documentary Get Back - compelling veiwing 3 X 2- 3 hour episodes imo should have been made into 6 episodes - musically very tight dove on by Macartny, it was so obvious the band was coming to the end in 1969 ...they spent ages arguing over a live performance ...…...for a live LP. ....,
Disappointed many venues were mentioned......
Not one to finish their last live performance back in their home town ?

Don’t disagree, but I’d rather watch a tired Gomorrah than most of the drivel on offer. Crashed through it, now desperately looking for something else worth watching, like when Breaking Bad, Lillehammer, The Wire and Saul ended. The Vicar of Dibley, The Larkins and Mrs Brown’s Boys doesn’t quite do it.

Suburra Blood of Rome should be your next watch ;)

The Line on ATV+ Mini series / documentary about whistle blowing questionable behaviour in Mosul by US Seals….. fascinating insight to the dynamics and mindset of modern warfighters.
Still not sure how to feel about the outcome
