One of the best series of the past few years.iPlayer have all 3 seasons of The Killing available for viewing (the Danish one), so currently ploughing my way through that - really good so far, can’t believe I’ve never seen it before
Just finished it, really good set up for the next series (unless Netflix can it)Just on episode 4 of Jupiter’s Legacy on Netflix. It’s alright so far, some of the special effects in the first episode look almost Power Ranger monster bad but it’s alright so far. Definitely grows on you. Not as good as the boys but a bit of a middle ground between that and the Marvel/Dc Universes.
The storytelling, acting and casting has stood the test of time. BSG is rightly considered one of the best shows ever made and I regularly go back and binge on it.Rewatched Battletar Galactica for the first time in like 10 years. Actually found I must have never seen the last 10 or so episodes so that was a nice surprise. Always felt it ended abruptly
, and instead it has a really good conclusion imo.when they land on 'earth' and its a nuclear wasteland
The CGI is very dated by modern standards now. Still love it though. Nothing nails space-action-drama like that does *cough* stargate universe *cough*
After seeing Baltar again, I now have a very strange compelling feeling to keep growing my lockdown hair...
Started watching Altered Carbon (S1) again, think it’s just going to annoy me even more that Netflix binned it off after series 2
Really mate? Honestly thought the Boys is one of the better things I’ve watched the past few years. I think my comparisons of the 2 were kind of around humanising them. Where as this is showing them as having the same family and day to day issues as normal people I think the Boys shows how their power corrupts them.Just finished it, really good set up for the next series (unless Netflix can it)
Interesting comparison to The Boys, I’ve struggled to get in to that whereas this I’ve binged since Friday.
Agree it wasn’t as good but still enjoyed it. The books are better like, but both were a pretty good stab at visualising them imho.Season 2 wasnt good...
Definitely one of, if not the, best casted shows ever. All the actors were perfect for their characters. The storytelling, acting and casting has stood the test of time. BSG is rightly considered one of the best shows ever made and I regularly go back and binge on it.
Agreed. Looking back now it's actually ridiculous how many inspired choices were made in casting. Edward James Olmos, Mary McDonnell, James Callis, Grace Park, Michael Hogan, Aaron Douglas and Katee Sackhoff were all perfect (obviously) but so many of the supporting / minor roles were brought to life with equal brilliance: Donnelly Rhodes, Dean Stockwell, Mark Sheppard, Michelle Forbes, Graham Beckel, Sam Witwer, Kate Vernon... The list goes on. The writing and evolution of the relationships between the characters was the best I've ever seen in a TV show.Definitely one of, if not the, best casted shows ever. All the actors were perfect for their characters.
This is on my 'next to watch' list.Jupiter’s Legacy new on Netflix, surprisingly entertaining twist on superhero genre.
