TV Money

only problem is that EVERYBODY'S TV money is increasing. our relative purchasing power will effectively stay the same.

this is only really a benefit to the players/agent and indirectly through the league being able to attract players from the continent.

We don't tend to buy prem players, what it'll do is give us power when it comes to negotiating with any team not in the prem. Whether that's blackburn or valencia. We'll be able to offer money and wages that should be harder to turn down.

It won't.

Say we currently make £90m in a season, and Spurs make £160m

With the new TV Money, we make £120m, while they make £190m

Still a £70m difference, but the percentage revenue gap is smaller. We'll also go from making practically no profit to clearing £20m profit per year.

that's on the assumption that expenses/outgoings will be static.

Yeah, the wages and agent fees will increase as there'll know there's mroe money available. In a few years you'd imagine the difference will be made up.

That won't happen short term, though.

the tv deal isn't out of the blue. it's been known about for ages. i'd be surprised if it had any real short term impact.

even if it does, we are broadly mid table when it comes to revenues. granted it means that we are a little closer to the teams above us in terms of turnover, however, it also means that the teams below us will be more competitive. given that the gulf in resources is larger between us and the teams above us than us and the teams below us, i think we are going to find it even harder going forward.

The problem is that the money will all go on wages and agent fees. When you look at the amount of money received in TV revenue, a lot more should be spent on the infrastructure of the club. Even with the current TV deal, no club should be in debt. It's players wages, it's completely out of control.

It's clubs like QPR, Portsmouth, Newcastle and West Ham that have been the problem. Clubs that have spent well over the odds on average players in an effort to crack Europe/ stay in the league.By doing so it massively inflates the market for other clubs.

If the overseas deals increase by 50% and we were to continue finsihing 7th, then it means:

30million extra revenue to spend (each year for the next 3 years) + 23 million from Fellaini = A spend of 50 million and loads of boss new players.

:)

i dont believe that ffs. Sounds too good to be true. There must be a catch

There is.

It would mean an extra 44 million each season, for the next 3 seasons.

I think Rooney might just be on his way back, lol.

like i said before i think this will not give us advantage over no one.

Think about it. That money could wipe out all of our depts.

It is a myth

It's not mate. People who know are talking about it like its the second coming of the premier league. Cardiff, just for getting promoted have just netted themselves a minimum of 120 million quid.
