Turning the corner.

...most welcome and more importantly, most needed but you often get a ‘bounce’ with change. I’m not knocking it, but we are still just above the relegation places and need to accumulate points.

Signs are promising, but too early to say we’ve turned a corner.
Sensible post Eggs, staying cautious whilst appreciating the imrovement, spot on.

Nope, nope & nope.
I really hope he brings success but don't fool yourself. Anyone earning millions wants the millions in the bank far more than they care about legend status

About 3 mins in. The strange thing about money. You literally can't put a price on that. Can't buy it, there's no pockets in a shroud mate. It's called being immortal and we love our legends.

As an aside, those post match songs are the most limp wristed, uninspiring, shandy school disco rubbish, I've ever heard. It's so bad, it deserves it's own thread. We could have this.

or.

That's aged like milk.

I really hope he brings success but don't fool yourself. Anyone earning millions wants the millions in the bank far more than they care about legend status. He's not an Evertonian. He has no history at the club. He can become a legend to the fans but to him, it's a new challenge and a new job.
I see you had a good xmas then ! He is not an Evertonian of course but who could be as a manager ? Of course he has negotiated a good contract but the point is he chose Everton when in all likelihood he could have had a few let's say more glamorous offers so don't be too down on him.

I'm not down on him in the slightest. I'm just under no illusion that it wasn't the money that brought him here.
Do you think Moshiri sat him down to watch a 1985 Rotterdam DVD or showed him a cheque for several million pound?

Any talk of corner turning is premature and will look pretty silly if Shelvey smashes one in from 30 yards later.

It’s all about slow incremental progress, and I’m more than happy with that after so many false dawns.

You quoted me and didn't even read my comment !!! I said that he will have got the most money he could from us BUT that he would surely have had other options ,he did choose us and that is enough for me to back him .You too will negotiate the best deal given the chance so why is it a problem when he has ?

Obviously the money helped carlo but he still could demand top money from other clubs and live in a sunny country. He taken a challenge on and doesn't believe he is too good for us.

Usually when we turn a corner we immediately find another corner to turn and another until we end up back where we started from.

Quiet optimism is the order of the day but there will be hiccups as essentially we are the same team, we have always started ok but as soon as the pressure comes or we take a nasty defeat they fall apart. Let's see if this mental strength improves now under Carlo.

A good run of results is the only measure to go by and then it will be can we continue that into next season.
