How's it racist? I just stated a fact. Secular to my knowledge means seperation of religion and state. I.e. France is a secular country. Britain isn't to the same degree. I don't see complete seperation in Turkey.

The military are trying to remove - Erdogan - what they consider as a dictator and to protect the secular principles of a democratic secular Turkish state.

Not likely. If they are Kemalists, binning Erdogan off is something that both NATO and Putin would probably support - and thats if they didnt actively support this anyway.

Also whilst Turkey may be strongly muslim, it is (the odd nutcase aside) in no way extremist, as anyone who has ever been there can attest to.
