Travel thread 3.0

Off to Berlin at end of month for a few days - I’ve never been before. We have some of the well known touristy bits on our list but any recommendations from anyone, even if off the beaten track? Thanks

I'm going to Krakow for 4 nights midweek in a couple of weeks.
Been before but for a stag do, going with Mrs LT, looking to visit the castle and surrounding towns via train.
Not really looking to visit Auschwitz (I'd be too upset) nor salt mine (Think I'd be bored)
Open to suggestions for bars, restaurants or towns to visit, cheers.

If the missus likes vodka there was a lively vodka bar just off the massive main square. (I think it was Wódka Café Bar but my memory might be slightly blurred).
Added: the one on Mikołajska 5 since there seem to be a few with similar names.

May have seen your post too late, hope you had a good time if I have, Berlin is a great place for a city break.
Thanks yeah came back today, absolutely fantastic place, enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would, would recommend. We were only there three days so didn’t get to see the place you linked above, but got through a lot of the city in that time.

Zakopane is nice, have several ski slopes, chair lifts etc. There is also a small village just above it in the hills, but I can't remember the name of it ☹️ - it is pretty much one street and on the opposite side of the valley. Really cool spot with lots of restaurants, cafes and look out spots

Have 9 days in Japan next year- flying into Osaka, out of Tokyo so essentially doing the golden triangle in reverse.

Any ideas for how much time in each city? Was thinking of 2 full days in Osaka, 2 days in Kyoto then either 5 days in Tokyo or maybe doing one night in Atami on the way from Kyoto.

I used to travel to Osaka in a previous job and I think you might want to spend a little more time in Kyoto and the surrounding area than Osaka. Luckily the two cities are so close that you can improvise accordingly. Maybe a side trip to Himeji castle?

If you do Facebook there is a group Krakow travel guide which may be helpful.

Done Patagonia and its treeless horizon, beautiful. Heading north into Iguazzu falls now. If you do travel here do not use Flybondi. We had a flight move forward about four hours then back to it's original time, then delayed for about two hours. We have three flights with them and not one was on time.
