One thing to remember... Even though we'd all like new signings in as early as possible to get prepared for the upcoming season, you don't spend millions of pounds on a transfer based on the affect they will have on the team over the course of a few weeks. You make a transfer based on the affect they will have over the course of a few years (which I feel is the correct approach). So RM will take as much time as he needs to make sure the player and the price are right.

It really is though. It's used by Sky Sports and BT Sport amongst other media outlets. Bookies even take bets on highest rated played, based on ratings from WhoScored.

In fact Opta also get their stats from it.
