....I don't see the point of putting a blag account up and communicating incorrect information. Surely those who do it have better things to do.

My theory is that in some cases - maybe not this one - people try and start rumours flying on social media to manipulate the betting market and make some money by cashing in once the odds on a player coming have shortened. Everton fans would be prime targets for this because sadly we're a gullible lot, as evidenced by recent runs of misguided bets on Charlie Austin and Johnny Evans.
