If a club signs a player, it doesn't mean the club has beaten us to their signature. More than likely we weren't interested in the first place.

This isn't football manager, Martinez won't get a message in his inbox saying a club has put in a bid for a player which gives him a direct link to his playing attributes and the assistant managers opinion and him think 'yeah he looks good, we'll bid for him as well'.

Martinez will have had a shortlist of the players he's interested in prepared weeks ago, other players going to other clubs mean nothing.

And those shortlisted will more than likely be the ones we where linked with especially all the 27-29 year old defenders. Or do you think we're the only club that can work in secret and when it happens no one will have known. We knew about Besic months before, Deulofeu months before, Cleverly months before, McCarthy, McGeady etc

Those linked have probably turned us down. It's not big deal we have other targets and a budget to keep to but to say it means nothing is also taking it too far. If people want to talk about that then that's fair enough.

Ospina would be a great buy. A lower prem or MLS side would probably give decent money for Howard as well. For a minimal outlay we could massively upgrade the side with a long term solution who will be grateful for the opportunity for first team football. I'd be made up with Ospina and Robles compared to where we were a few years back with Howard and Mucha.

yes. I have said this to ijjy before. Someone who has potential and can do a job but isnt going to cost a lot of money as they wont be first choice.

I agree but not to replace Kone. You need someone with experience incase Rom is out for a while.
