Same as fonte, just because he has been there since they were in the lower leagues, it doesnt make him a top player, as swansea had players exactly the same and i didnt see a queue for them once they got here, nor any plaudits for them. and for comparing him to mogran, on that basis this mason kid is going to be top class just because stones was. Same sort of comparison mate.

Errr, mate, you do realise Fonte was one of the best centre backs in the league last season yes?

KOEMAN: FONTE NOT FOR SALE

Ronald Koeman says Southampton will not consider selling captain Jose Fonte this summer.

Earlier we reported that Aston Villa were in talks with the defender, but Koeman has just told a press conference he will not be leaving St Mary's.

"He is our captain, he is a very strong defender and he is a club man like Kelvin Davis," said Koeman.

"I don’t think for one second think about selling him. He is our captain. There is no way we will sell him."

Media reports on Van Dijk going to Southampton lead to more media reports. The papers are basically a perpetual cycle of pure gash.

he may have been mate. not disputing that, saying one good season doesn't make a good player.

Michu a couple years back was one of the top scorers in the league, hasn't done it since to the point that swansea were happy to get rid. Beatte was a top striker for saints for one year, and he came to us.......

point is one good season doesn't make a player.

Football just stinks now, far too much money thrown around and the media just spouting absolute nonsense trying to sell every player to absolutely anyone. Twitter is 100% the biggest load of turd around when it comes to transfers and ITK's. Might give myself a break from it all.

Nah that won't happen too much downtime in work at the minute. When are we signing Kagawa then?

Injury was the issue with Michu though.

I agree with you in a way with Fonte though. I feel he's the best he'll ever be right now, and that's because of the environment he's in down there. Settled.

He's had loads of good seasons though mate.

Just because you didn't notice it doesn't mean it's not true.
