We're not after someone who is going to dislodge Stones & Jagielka, we need someone with experience to come in when needed and provide adequate cover. If there's money to spend then Van Dijk, but if not Vlaar is a wise option.

I think we're after someone that's capable of replacing Jags in another season or two. Even if Stones stays Browning and Galloway are more than one or two seasons from being capable to be relied upon.

That's why we're looking to spend so much money. You can disagree all you want whether Dann is the right man but the amount of money we're looking to spend is right.
