we need DAVIDMOYES back
Priority? - let's assume that in this window and in the summer window we're intend on spending £25M (a reasonable figure)
Goal: (2)
Howard and Robles - right now I think we're ok in this area
Right Back: (2 plus)
Coleman, Hibbert (and maybe Stones) - look ok here
Centre Back: (4, realistically)
Jags, Distin, Alcaraz, Stones (maybe Duffy), Heitinga (at the moment)
Possible need for a senior back-up
Left Back: (2, realistically)
Baines, Oviedo, Garbutt (in extremis - at the moment, with Bryan out we might use Barry or Distin or Hibbert)
No problems here
Midfield: (currently available, or soon to be available: 10 or so, for next season about 10 or 11)
Gibson (injured), Oviedo (injured), Deulofeu (loan, till end of season)
McGeady, Pienaar, Osman, Mirallas (maybe required up front), Barkley (if fit), McCarthy, Barry (loan, potentially available at end of season), Gueye (unlikely to have any impact or be here next season in all probability), Naismith (off the bench, probably)
Probably just about ok here at the moment but no shortage of players when fit and available.
Forward: (currently available 1-2, maybe 3, long term ??)
Kone (injured), Vellios (probably not good enough), Lukaku (injured at the moment, probably going back to Chelsea), Traore (loan till end of season), McAleny (untried), Mirallas or Naismith also an option.
The key area to address - definitely for next season at any rate.
1. A striker to make sure we have a decent option or three next season.
2. A back-up defender (probably a centre-half)
3. Another promising midfielder if the price is right.
