Hi to one and all, my 1st post but long time lurker. I was led to believe the 'fat waiter' decided to give him a miss as they were not willing to pay more than 10M- pretty sure either 'skysports' or 'timesonline' mentioned this earlier in the week, but definitely heard the 16m valuation also mentioned. If reports that Espanyol have bought a replacement winger are true, then maybe our bid will make all the difference if it is a larger amount up front than the RS. Could be one of the few potential signings this window that is not subject to the selling club finding a replacement! COYB

Welcome mate, Yes says in my link above that they were priced out of the move also believe they offered voronin and 6m for him. Cant see us payin 16m for him tho.

Thanks NBL- 16M although not ridiculous money does seem a little steep especially when Mountinho is circa 20M with bags more potential. I would say 12-14M tops for a player of his age and ability and our current requirement for bodies in the squad. If the reported bid is true, surely they would have already checked out potential salary for the player as well to avoid another dead end in the transfer market.
