Transfer Rumour: Joe Hart

Does anyone in here remember a few years ago when butland was going to be our only signing and people were moaning that we were going to spend 2 million on him?

Things never change

although he's had some prominent mistakes he's also had some clutch performances at important moments for city. my only concern is that his play with his feet is terrible and his distribution is a problem. He'd be a big upgrade for us.

When compared against the perceived top 5 keepers of many people in the Premier League - De Gea, Lloris, Cech, Hart and Courtois - he comes 4th, better than Courtois and only slightly worse than De Gea.

Could be better like, granted.

are you getting this from a statistical analysis or just how you feel about their distribution? I'm not trying to be smart, I'm just high as a balloon and feel like I might've missed something.

I would guesstimate it will take around 35-40 million to get Butland, i could see Hart being sold for around 20-25 million.

I hope I'm wrong and Butland is the one we are after though. Question is, is it worth that much extra for Butland when there are other holes to be filled?

Isn't FFP all about wages?

FFP is for European comps=profit/loss
and STC is for Premier League only I think=wages

According to this :

City have lots of wiggle room as far wages are concerned due to increased commercial deals and some dodgy deal they did with Mancinis pay off the crafty Arab buggers.

It is interesting to note how Man City have benefited from their rather calculated decision to classify Mancini's pay-off as 'wages' - this inflated the club wages and, assuming it isn't contested by the PL, would allow more scope for wage increases (if required). Of course, City have increased Commercial Income since 2013/14 (largely from state-influenced Abu Dhabi companies) so have additional capacity for wage increases in any event.

No way am I looking at their accounts to see what their profit and loss column looks like.
