jacobsen been available since january for free and no club took him

Not exactly right. He was released during the summer. And would have stayed if they would have keeped themselfes up.

[quotenash was wigans 3rd choice keeper[/quote]
So? We need an experienced back-up, not a new star. Do you think he will paly anyway?

saha injury prone
True. And so is Cahill. So what? It´s for free for god´s sake!

castillo who?
Agree. And so have we said before. With different outcome. I heard the same last summer for Pienaar. But please, give him a chance before you judge him.

Fellaini fair doos

Maybe, lets see how he perform. it is a hell of a lot of money!

sold aj and mcfadden
AJ wanted to leave, DM want to keep him. same as Robinho,, take the money and let him leave.
McFadden, was he ever good enough?? Talented, but inconsistent

not exactly jumping for joy but could've been worse

liege werent selling because they were in the CL qualifiers REMEMBER????

sporting were playing silly arses with moutinho who we made at least two bids for.

CSKA moscow sold jo first, then suddenly got frosty regarding losing their other striker.

the thing about going after players in the 'superstar bracket' is that signing them takes superstar money and means paying them superstar wages.

there are a few too many queglets with short memories that expect everton to throw money at potential flops like vdm, kroldrup, nyarko.

i much prefer the cautious and calculated approach which sees the club safe.

I dont see how leaving all your business till the last week of the transfer window and spending £15m at 11pm on the last day is 'Cautious and Calculated'

I just hope everything turns out ok.

But I just feel that we've brought in players that put us back to where we were last year. Which is fine, but we need to be moving forward, especailly when you see the teams around us. It scary.

We still need another winger, a class fit striker and another creative midfielder on paper. But if it works out, it works out. Cant see now silverwear coming though, and no 5th place finish. Been proven wrong before though hehe

I'l lhave more faith if Moyes signs his contract now.

just because you dont see it, doesnt mean it isnt there. ;)

the transfer window opened in june (?) its now september.

three months of wages saved per player + wage relief on the players sold/released.

lets not forget we are not an affluent club, and all the griping, and moaning, and hysterics, and histrionics, and complaining, and misery, and anguish, and tears WONT CHANGE THAT FACT.

If people feel let down they have every right to moan. That's what forum's are about giving your opinion both positive and negative. No ones saying it will change the situation we are in but we have every right to discuss it.

I love your take on things there lol. I'm presuming yoru being sarcastic with the wages part, cause lets face it we've picked up 3 points from our opening 3 games. If we'd signed all these players, let them settle in over pre-season then we might have 7 or 9 points... those 4-6 points could be the difference between a eufa cup spot and champions league... now do you really think the matchs work out when we look at it that way?

Edit: Now do you think the MATHS work out when we look at it that way.

discussing it is one thing.

hammering it in like a pneumatic drill is another thing all together.

lets have some insight, a bit of humour, an idea about how things might pan out, but the non stop doom and gloom just cannot continue.

im sick to the back teeth of...

this is a joke

hes gotta go

ENOUGH !

This thread is a joke, right?

Fellani cost less than what the club got from Johnson and McFadden. Total spent on transfers in 2008: nothing.

see the emboldened bit? thats a little ray of positivity in a sea of tempestuous doldrums.

who scored most of our goals last season and when did we sign him? (his name begins with 'Y' and ends with 'akubu')

a season is not done and dusted after just three games, there are numerous teams in transition, settling players in, settling new managers in, as well as dealing with the independent will of their enemies.

there are no guarantees in football, no matter how much you pull your face and spew bile.

we're further away from breaking the monopoly of the "sky 4" than we were last year

Four other prem teams have taken over us as the teams most likely to !!

please don't let the signing of one player let you think all is rosey, it could well work out he's not worth 15p never mind 15m.

Once he finds out how difficult the premier league is :(

I hanfull of posters do that, not many to be honest. Alot of us discuss what is going on, who's right who's wrong etc.

how far were we away from breaking the sky 4 last season and where were we expected (by whom???) to finish - where did we actually finish?

who are these other 4 prem sides and who says they are more likely than us?

we have signed 5 players, its not just one.

moyes has signed the most expensive player of his career - keep that in mind - moyes has signed him, a big money player (and 6'4" as well :D )

Think Fellaini is great acquasition by David Moyes and Everton FC. Saw him play on quite a few occasions (Belgian league and cup) matches and highlights and think he'll fit in perfectly well at Everton. Didn't expect anything to happen anymore yesterday and I'm over the moon by his signing.

Still feel, we are a couple of midfielders short though. I'm still livid over the turned down work permit for Obinna, as he could have done a great job for us. Wondering if a top 4 club signed him, it would have been the same result. Can't blame the club on this one, but would have liked another central midfielder brought in. Ah well, hopefully we can get to January without to many problems and make a couple of much needed signings then.
