Team Sky announced today that Ben Swift will join Brits Geraint Thomas and Bradley Wiggins in the team for the race. Cav will definitely be there, so minimum of 4 Brits being dragged around the flats and climbs of France in a couple of weeks.
Splendid!

No it's ace...believe me.

I used to get the hump with all the drugs and stuff, but now I don't care - it's pure theatre, everyone is coked-up, including the crowd who are completely insane.

Pull up a chair and enjoy ...total Euro madness

Now that I've started cycling, I'm finding myself paying more attention to the sport. In otherwords, watching it on TV when it's on. Watched some of the Tour de Suisse last week and that was interesting.

Still learning.

There was a rider nicknamed the 'badger' who won it 3 times, Bernard Hinault.(y)

Hinault won it 5 times ;)

Must say, I prefer the Giro or some of the spring classics, the Tour as a route often isn't all that interesting. But all the best riders are there so of course I'll tune in. Can't really see anyone beating Contador or Schleck though.

Maybe, but the Vuelta is the most boring of the Grand Tours. Tortuous to watch at times going across the plains.

Yeah the Vuelta isn't much fun. I kinda agree with Oscar Freire when he said recently

"The Tour is the most boring race of the year. In the flat stages, you have a breakaway, then a sprint. In the mountain stages, the same riders are at the front every time. The Tour of Flanders: that is a real race."

Flanders is a fantastic spectacle, and last years Giro was too. Some real racing. The Tour not so much. Hopefully this year will be interesting, but I fear unless Contador is goosed after the Giro that he'll win quite comfortably.

I'd echo that. It's a great spectacle. Paris-Roubaix too.
