Robert Jarvis

Player Valuation: £35m
So we have a big game tonight and should have been carrying a 2 goal lead but that's football for you and Murphy's Law.

Now about tonight what team would you like to see coming out of that tunnel?

There are obvious choices like Howard in goal, Arteta midfield and Lescott CB but what of the rest? What would be our preferred selection?

I'd like to see a back four of Hiibert, Yobo, Stubbs and Lescott and team full of self belief, we will win!

Their aim is going to be to keep a clean sheet and maybe get us on the counter attack like they did at Goodison, so to counter that we need not only a good experienced back four like Monty has pointed out, but we need intelligence on the ball in midfield to help carve them open and to allow a strikers to get a few damn good chances, so I'd like a midfield of:

Arteta: Obviously, the mans a genius on his day.
Pienaar: His european experience will be vital and against weaker opposition should rise to the challenge.
Neville: Again his european experience should bring some composure if things get a little tricky.
Carsley: Been poor of late, but we need a man in there who is going to close them down and will run all game.

Up front its gotta be:
McFadden: Is on form, can score a goal out of nothing and tonight we may need that if they do get on our backs.
Yakubu: Again euro experience from the start and if he doesnt play well then bring on AJ to hit them with his pace.

get's my vote as well, although if AJ is passed fit i would naturally put him in instead of McFadden, just incase we are awarded a penalty ! ;)

I think Yobo would fit in well in Stubbs spot. You have Neville back there instead of Hibbert, so Yobo won't have to worry so much about Hibberts sometimes lacking positional sense.

Plus, the distrubution from Neville will be better (if only slightly) than Hibbert (and I say all this after Tony had a great game against Boro)

What about Yobo? Could do with his pace to clear up any swift counter attacks. Question is, do you want pace or an experienced head?

Maybe same as Sunday - bring him on later to help out Stubbs. Saying that, I don't think we were that well organised at the back on Sunday even with Stubbs.

Still wondering about AJ too - if he's fit, he must be dying to make amends for the 1st leg. Ooh it's all so difficult!
