Only thing I've got against signing Soucek, is that he's not exactly the profile of midfielder I thought we'd be after. A number 6 would make more sence. But don't think he would be a bad signing at all. Scores quite a few goals and this time it wouldn't be against us.

There's no middle ground anymore.
You have to completely dismiss it or it doesn't look good you know .
Is it a brilliant signing no. But its also not an utter disgrace either.
Depending on fee and that its a sensible signing who will do a job.

It's more that people bring up these random players I've never heard of, who have never shown they can play in this league, and complain we aren't going for them instead. It absolutely baffles me.

We've seen Soucek can be good under Moyes - that is something that can't really be argued. If the fee is relatively affordable then I struggle to see how this deal is a disgrace. Especially considering some of the absolutely dreadful players we've brought in over the years. I could list about 20 who were terrible in the last decade.

If it turns out we are spending 20m or more, then yeah be annoyed by all means. But if it's 10 or 12m etc, then that's nothing in the modern game.

Just admit he's not what we need and we should avoid him.

We've done some good work this window but this would be a very uninspiring signing.

People see 30 and get scared, its 2025, big Ashley is 45.

Good player, I’ve always really like watching him play. He’s not a DM but he is physical and tough. But for me he’s too slow and not getting any quicker. I don’t think he should play in a midfield two. In the Doucoure role he’d be good, albeit not the profile of player I wish we were after. But we are short in midfield. I was impressed by Armstrong but I’d also support one more Championship loan with an eye on next season being one of the first four midfielders.

I’m of the opinion that it’s a decent signing for a small fee, but anything over like 10-15m is better spent elsewhere.

Czech media said our original offer was 12. So maybe 15?

Soucek couldnt lace Brownhills boots
