Time for him to get another run in the side.

He was publically praised by Allardyce after a game in which he pretty much threw everyone else under the bus. In a narcissistic kind of way, he probably got a boost from that.

Only positive from the wknd. Continue to say first name on the team sheet.

People last week slating him saying hes not good enough. Hes more than good enough for our team , pity we don't have more like him.

Davies and Niasse are really the only ones that show any desire to help the team at the weekend, Walcott was so so the others were terrible.
Having desire and energy and enthusiasm is great and i wish he could pass it on to some of the other players, but his ball control and passing skills are absolutely shocking for a premier league player. Also he needs to work on his decision making as the amount of times he gives the ball away is just a bit too much sometimes. I think it was the Spurs game(can't fully remember) but in the first 2 1/2mins he gave the ball away 6 times, i don't care how old he is but that is just not good enough at any level. There is a player in there waiting to get out with the right coaching and guidance i do believe that.

the key point is needs to work on, hes 19. do you expect the finished article?

for me hes currently the best option along side Gueye.

i think the midfielders we have in general dont want the ball which gives the teams against us an easy ride to push forward and we play alot more of the game in our own half/halfway line because the holding mids wont push on.
with Davies he may lose it, but the enthusiasm to receive the ball and move it forward pushes the opposition back.
plus lets face it were pretty garbage anyway at least he'll be learning along the way even if he plays badly not like anyone whos played ahead of him has shone really.

He has been disposessed less than Rooney, Sigurdsson, Schneiderlin & Gueye this season.
Only Gueye has a better pass completion rate than Davies this season, and Davies tries to move the ball in more dangerous positions

But dont let the stats get in the way of the whole Tom Davies cant pass or keep the ball bandwagon a certain amount of fans seem to be jumping on at the moment

As I've previously said, he has the right ideas but he's often quite erratic in his play.

I'm confident he'll develop his play on the ball in time, he just needs to calm down a bit when it's coming towards him.

Imagine being him and watching Schneiderlin play week in week out instead, think I'd be off if Allardyce was here next season but hopefully that wont be an issue.

Apart from Coleman; the boy Davies is the best all around player in the squad. I believe Gueye and Pickford are currently more important players but that says more about our inept offense than it does anything else. If I'm the boss man assessing the squad I'd look at it as such:

Pickford
Coleman - ? - ? - ?
Gueye
Walcott - Davies - Siggurdson - ?
?

So after all the spending we've done; we're still 5 first team quality players away from a competitive side. When you consider the age of Coleman, Gueye, Walcott, and Siggurdson the future looks even less promising.

In conclusion to this rant; apart from Pickford in goal, the only player in the squad that is currently playing at 1st team quality and still has their best football in their future is Tom Davies. As such we need to support the young man as a fan base, and our management needs to start him in every match that he is fit for.
