Play a midfield three consistently as it gets the best out of our players:

Schneiderlin or Gana for the sitting role (Gana first choice)

Davies or Klaassen for the box-to-box role

Rooney or Gylfi for the playmaker role

We've also get Beni in reserve.

I have no doubt Schneiderlin will play at the Emirates and in all truth, that doesn't bother me as such.

But in the vast majority of games, where we should be getting on the front foot, the players who started last night need to play.

Schneiderlin came on and did well and if that's his role, that's fine. If he wants to be starting again he needs to work harder.

Morgan shouldn't be anywhere near this team or bench. Benni has shown more promise this year. Stick with the 3 we've ust used I say ;)

I don't know what game the moaners were watching. True, I'm biased since I absolutely love the lad. But he's been trying to be positive all game and with that there'll necessarily be mistakes, especially at 19. And in the last minutes he was absolutely marvelous, played all the right passes to keep Leicester off the ball, took that silly foul by Albrighton like a veteran, made fools of their players when he was showing the ref that they were within 10 yards during free kicks. He ran his heart out, closed down Schmeichel with a sprint in the 94th minute. What else do you want from him? He's a 19 year old playing central midfield in a team that's been god awful for most parts of the season. When I was 19 year old I would've been a mess, bored or frustrated off me head. Good on him. Kick on, Davo!

I've aid this a few times as Well, don't underestimate the free kicks he wins, very good game management skills as he seems to do it at perfect times.

I'd agree but Morgan showed his value when he came on last night.

DCL came on and added pace up front instead of Gylfi, and Morgan added - unbelievably - a bit more legs than Rooney who looked shot from what I saw. And in all fairness, Leicester never got another sniff because the first thing - or one of them - that Morgan did was get on the ball and calm us down a bit. I don't think Beni would have been good in that scenario.

So it has to be horses for courses.

Our issue under four successive managers has been that that methodology hasn't been used.

..good point, bit like Arteta in that regard.

Yes mate. Because he' winning these free kicks higher up the pitch a lot of the time as well he has the midfielders playing slightly higher and in turn we have more men around the ball.

Someone mentioned last nigjt that he wasn't great on the ball but off it he was fantastic and sometimes we haven't even had that from the players.

I just feel we are 5/10 yards pushed higher up due to his legs and that makes us look less isolated

Probably get battered now against the Arse with the same side lol

The issue under 4 managers mate is no one has punted Morgan into the sun ;)

As mentioned, obviously intelligent with regards to game management, was pointing at players not being back ten yards which wasted loads of time when we needed to

..yes, the back four sat deep to counter Vardy’s pace yet we still looked capable of getting up the pitch. That surprised me a lot. Ironically, I wonder if Davies was in the original starting line up given Allardyce’s comments about deadline day enquiries impacting selection. I read into that, perhaps Schneiderlin and his agent had lined up a move away. There was rumours of a swap deal with the lad from Inter Milan.

This thread amuses me , Davies gets stick when we lose even though he wasn’t playing, then stick when we win with him playing. Big Sam got a few things right last night, including playing at home with only one DFM Gueye. This is when Davies’s energy about the pitch and ability to drive us forward come into their own, he provides the forward momentum which Gueye doesn’t ( different player) and the energy that Rooney no longer can. At times he makes mistakes and looks what he is , a 19 year old still getting to grips with the PL . It’s hard to think of any 19 year old playing regularly in the PL at the moment, there are few that can hold down a place at this age. I can see him on the bench on Saturday when Sam goes for two outright DFMs , maybe coming on for a fading Rooney, but he certainly has a role to play in our squad .

And play who?

Our best results this season have come with Rooney playing that deep role. But to do it we need two players with legs (and who are willing to use them) around him. If not Davies, then Gana and.... who?

Two up front.

I like Davies, he has a lot to learn though.
