You're telling me you don't think Barkley has displayed quality in his career? I'm not denying he hasn't fulfilled his potential but the talent is up there with anything England has produced recently. Davies doesn't have that ceiling for me. I see him as more of an Osman/Mark Noble squad player.

Yesterday he looked way out of his depth. I don't know if he was deliberately targeted as being a weak link but taking him off so early in the game will not have done his confidence any good but it had to happen
The challenge to rediscover the mid season form of last year is going to be a struggle and I do wonder if giving him so much game time last season will prove to be counter productive

But seriously how could you drop him last year in the form he was in? I think that could have been more detrimental to the lads career. Saying that he has been off the pace this year (as has a fair few players worryingly). Rooney aside very few young players break into the side and don't show any blips in their performance levels. Tom Davies is just suffering one of those blips at present, he is too good a player not to come back to last season's form.
 

He has looked bad so far this season. Hopefully he can regain the form he had last season as he'll be a useful option in midfield then. Right now I cringe seeing him on the field.
 
Was brilliant against ruzemberok at home. Every game is a learning curve. Think being booked for two 'dives' hasn't helped.

Still love him.
 
He looked nervous rather than out if his depth imo.

He's a brilliant talent, we all saw it last year, he'll show it again.
 
Last year he came into a settled team, this year we are playing different variations every game. Rooney, Sandro, Gylfi and even Klaasen have are all playing the same spaces and we are alternating every game. Not sure Davies knows where he's meant to be playing.
 

Whats happened to the energy he showed last year? Was always buzzing around. This year he has been strolling around think he has forgotten what got him in the team in the first place
