Bit of a passenger today I thought. I just wonder if he's tired and his confidence has dropped a bit. Very conservative in his play - first thing he did whenever he got on the ball was look for Rooney straight away.

I'm fine with that tbh. Tom actually has a good long ball on him, but his confidence has forsaken him a bit this season. He and Wayne were solid defensively and we won the game which is good.

Without wanting to criticise Tom, I thought once again today that he looked a fair way of the pace and is in need of a much needed rest.

There's a player in there, which I think most people saw last season and glimpses of this year, but his first touch and positioning have gone...

... well, wayward. Unfortunately however, with missing Gana and McCarthy, along with Morgan out of form, I doubt he'll get any respite soon.

To be fair, he wasn't overly poor today however if he'd had faced a more imposing, composed midfield opposition then I think he'd have sunk.

We can get away with playing him at home against the bottom half in this league, but right now he's struggling. Away from home and against the top 6 we aren't going to get away with it.
