Bit of a drop down the leagues for him. I know he suffered loads of folk saying he's Championship standard at best, but I really did think he'd find a low end prem club as a squad player or Championship club.

I’m not trying to be glib, for once, but I honestly think League One is bang on for him.
He might well build himself up to Champo/lower Prem level but I don’t think he was ever there barring some very occasional flashes.

He was offered a deal at Everton, he could have sat on that for what? £20-30k a week or he can go play in league one earning £1-2k a week?
He’ll be keeping his fitness up. Barton had probably reached out to him, but I’d expect him to end up in the Championship (or Sheff Utd/Luton).
