Tom on his last day...

Respect to him, like Kenny last year, for actually taking a chance on his career rather than live out the cushy Everton life that the club are always far too eager to offer.

He’s not a good player, at all, which is a shame given the way he came into the team under Koeman alongside Gueye and Schneiderlin (which is actually probably the last time we looked a half decent team on a consistent basis).

Wish him well but I’m very glad he’s moving on.
Conversely it could be the case that the likes of Tom and others see the mountain of cack around the bend and turn down a regular pay packet for fear of forever being tarnished with this poison chalice.
Football eh?
At this moment in time I'm as far away from the despondency of my beloved team as you can imagine.
I'm on a short break in Napoli and every lamppost, traffic light Telegraph pole is festooned with the colours of the Campiones d'Italia. Lovely to see.

Fair play to him for making that call, he probably won't earn as much but will test himself now to become a first team footballer. For us it means we can try and get someone who is pushing for a place in the starting 11 and that has to be better than having someone you only start during an injury/suspension crisis.

Good luck to him and I hope he can prove some people wrong in a less pressured atmosphere.

Will be interesting to see where he goes. He certainly won't be offered the kind of money he was on at Everton that's for sure.

I think the best thing for his career would be to drop down to the Championship even if it's not the best thing for his bank account. And I really think he would find it difficult at that level too.
