2022/23 Tom Davies

I think Tom’s problem has always been that he didnt have a fixed best position (similar to Iwobi) which meant he got played wherever. Lampard seems to see him as able to do a job as a defensive midfielder and as. Such he has done a decent job. Not Kante levels, but far batter than our other options. I thought he has done well the last two games and would love to see the lad settle down and win a place the way Iwobi has.

Lampard's probably watched every minute of footage from the last three seasons and noticed that the last time Davies looked half-decent was when Ancelotti deployed him as a 6. He (Davies) certainly isn't the finished article there, but he's got a better chance of evolving into that role than he has anywhere else.

Anyway, praise where it's due: he put an honest shift in against Forest and we withered after he went off.

If he raised his game as Iwobi has done no one would deny him his place in the team. I thought he played well yesterday with Iwobi…..

Has been fine the last two games as a back up he's fine but we can't start him for more than a few games I think. Hope Gana is incoming

There is a player in there somewhere. Wish somebody would offer 45 million for him. Oh no, some would say, he is our own homegrown prodigy, like Gordon.
