Barkley brought the best out in him.

Think it's more a case of Barkley was the ugly bird who makes her friend look fitter by comparison.

Hope he improves, but for now Tom Davies should be nowhere near the starting 11.

Possibly a case of too much too soon for Tom.

FWIW I like the lad and reckon he'll develop into a good player, but maybe a loan out to a Championship side looking for promotion would do him a world of good as with Coleman.

Get him in a team where he is a 1st 11 starter and looking to come up, reckon the experience will do him a world of good.

Still young and time to develop.

he looked an absolute class apart from Davies in the few games he played last season. Certainly looked the more deserving of game time out of the 2.

does schneiderlin keep the ball? gueye? besic?

gueye cant pass it five yards under no pressure sometimes, and is scared of passing it forward, like schneiderlin, who has a nosebleed if he is facing the opposition goal when he has the ball. And besic has a tendency to try cruyff turns, lackadaisical touches and hospital passes in inappropriate parts of the pitch, though at least besic doesn't always seem scared to get up the pitch.

me personally, id rather a midfielder try a forward pass and it not come off, especially a young player.

If we’re to improve this season I can’t see a place for Davies in the starting XI. We need a box to box midfielder with more quality and composure than Davies to partner Gueye and Gylfi.

Of all our centre midfield options now Klaassen has mercifully departed, davies is the worst.
