Obviously id back him if he signed for us, but when ever ive watched him hes striked me as a bit of a nothing player, i dont understand what he does, hes not box to box, he cant go past a man, hes not fast, hes not got a good shot on him, his passing range is average and safe, hes not physically impossing, he cant tackle

You've just described Osman.

I just don't see where he would fit into our system. The echo seems to think he will be an Osman replacement. For me, they are not at all a like. And as he only has a year left on his contract, who would actually pay more than £3 million for him after the season he's had?

This doesn't seem to be going away. Looks like he really is a target for Roberto. Oh well. I trust him.

Probably. Wouldn't mind it, either. I do agree that about £3m is the most United can really ask for, given the circumstances.

My thoughts exactly. And there was actually an article on him I think from the bleacher report or similar, which echoed the exact same concerns and showed him up to do not a lot at all.

Did it analyse his performances under Martinez at Wigan? Because that would be an interesting contrast I think.

I don't think it did mate, I seem to remember it focusing on his recent season with United. Could be wrong like.

Martinez has had a whole year of watching this lad though so knows what he can do, and frankly if he thinks he'll slot in next to McCarthy then he gets my full backing. He's got decent technique from what I've seen, but not sure what else he does. For less than £5m, it might turn out to be an inspired signing though.

I do like this British team we're building.

Every time I've watched him he's been appalling.

But such is my faith in Bobby that I'd get right behind him. Gibson seemed a hilarious transfer when it happened but he proved himself to be a very good player. Albeit a broken one.
