After Barry and Gibson we should know better by now........

Roberto worked with him at Wigan. He knows him better than most, if he thinks he can do a job then so be it.
I'm with you brother, personally I don't rate Cleverly but his work with Martinez must have sparked something and I deffo trust RM to be seeing a bigger picture.

I seem to remember Cleverly playing well for Martinez whilst he was at Wigan, so at least he knows him and should know how to use him to get the best out of him. It'd be a bit of an uninspiring signing but I trust Martinez's judgement.

I remember in the latter part of his loan spell on to the next season with United he looked ace, then stagnated over the past season, probably due to a lack of confidence with bad performances for England and SAF guidance being taken away from him. Under Martinez he can shine.

The more I think of this possibility the more I warm to the idea.

Yes, Cleverley hasn't had the greatest of seasons but is that cos he's sh!t or down to Moyesy's management?

When I look at Cleverley this season I think back to how Barkley was when Moyes was in charge, how he looked a shadow of himself, scared to make mistakes, played out of position and all that made him half the player he is and I think the same applies to Cleverley under Moyes as under SAF he didn't look too bad and looked like he was gonna come on and be a really good player.

Maybe if Martinez could get him cheap due to his deal running out in 14 or so months time and reinvigorate the lad and his performances then maybe we could potentially have a good player amongst the squad?!

My local team is Watford and I go to the games every now and then. Cleverley was on loan a few years back and was the best player I have seen there for a long time, very good prospect! I have always stuck up for the guy and I believe he would be a very good signing, especially as Mr Bobby Brown shoes would get the very best from him!

Not really hard to be the best player at Watford to be fair mate..

He played exceptionally well for Wigan mate, so much so he was effectively thought of from that point on as Scholes replacement at Man united, since then he has suffered from both Ferguson then Moyes moving him around in different positions though

Unless i am remembering wrongly, he was their and integral when Wigan had that great end to the season and the miracle escape from he drop

Watching that interview from after he left wigan you have to say that theirs a good chance of this rumour having legs to it

don't have sunday roast tbh.

can't sit down and watch him week in week out because he can't get in a centre midfield that is worse than ours
To be fair, Barkley couldn't get into a midfield which contained Osman and Neville under a certain manager..

Martinez clearly rates him and I think he could make a player out of him at Everton. We'll have to see how summer pans out?!

Haha couldn't help but laugh at the point we're Martinez was talking about losing Cleverley & N'Zogbia and seeing it as an exciting opportunity for the youngsters to try and step in and step up. Most managers would be gutted to lose 2 of his best players from seasons past but not Bobby! Always sees the positives in any situation. Haha

The positivity of him must be infectous tbh mate, he's like a guy who loses his wallet on a night out and has to walk 6 miles home, and see's it as a good thing as he can exercise off the calories of the beer like ;p
