Castor Semenya? Think she was banned from one thing, refused to do another... who knows, it's a train wreck. She's biologically a man, she shouldn't be allowed to compete as a woman, end of story, but we live in one absolutely ridiculous world where everyone is afraid of common sense in case it hurts someones ickle feelings. We need certainty - XX/XY provides it.

It's why the 'trans women are women' zero sum argument is so damaging. There's no boundary line being drawn. If that statement is taken on face value, legally, then anyone man who says they're now a woman are then absolutely, undeniably an actual woman and share all legal protections with females.

Which is, obviously, lunacy. Trans women aren't women; they are trans women.

She's allowed to run if the distance is like 399 meters or less I believe. She hasn't done the required time to qualify for the 200m though.

iirc, they told her she(?) had to take testosterone reducing drugs...which I think she refused to do and was banned from all distances up to 5000m...but she can't make the qualifying time at that - totally wrong build for it.

Team GB Women's football on BBC Two now. Some of the team sport tournaments have started ahead of Friday's opening ceremony to fit everything in to the schedule.

Japan are 8 hours ahead, so UK broadcasting will be from around 2AM - 2PM. Most of the good stuff in the later hours.

I really try my best to get into the Olympics when its on but it just doesn't do it for me at all, especially with no crowds.

People say it gives you a chance to watch all these random sports you'd never usually watch, to which I reply I spent life my not watching them for a reason.

I think I vaguely enjoyed the 4x100 relay one time a couple decades ago and that's about it.
