Unlike the UK, Japan is still in lock down. Their vaccination program is only just starting. 70% of the Japanese population do not want the Olympics to go ahead.
Absolutely not and all international travel should be postponed until the summer of 2030 at the earliest to pacify the numpties in the Coronavirus Thread who think that a trip to Skegness is a holiday.
I don't really know enough about what things are like in Japan. It's going to be behind closed doors and sport has worked elsewhere with no crowds, so it could work.
I suppose it depends what the situation will be like in Tokyo in August. What will the vaccine roll out be like then?
Is it weird that the biggest thing that I'm looking to by far with the Tokyo Olympics is the opening (and closing) ceremony? the Japanese are gonna go proper all-out for that.
If things are sufficiently under control by the end of July then let Japanese people attend. If there are still worries then I would let it go ahead without fans. Don't think they or anywhere should be encouraging masses of people from all other the World to descend on them.
