Except that they have lost. Quite horrifically.

It's a game they can afford to loose though - if they were in a relegation battle, or pushing for the top 4 then of course, it would be utter madness to make 7 changes. But the fact is they're stuck comfortably in upper mid table, and don't have too much to play for in the league now (except the difference in money that finishing 1 or 2 places higher/lower makes). The only problem I have with this is that the travelling fans came a long way just to see their team throw away the game, which I admit isn't really right. But in footballing terms, absolutely.

haha. just seen the score. 'koff swansea. lets be honest, they have every right for doing what they did, they weren't resting players, just making sure their better first XI didn't get injured for the final. The league cup is where their season ends really. They can still finish 7th and they won't finish any lower than 9th probably. We did the same and it was even less acceptable because that was a derby.

Let's be honest, if they were playing anyone but the RS, would anyone be arsed?

anyway, yeah, 'koff swansea, that was pathetic - i don't support you this week. I'll support you next week though after you've won #gloryhunter

if you were a manager and you were on the verge of winning the club's first ever major trophy, would you risk your players against people like suarez who are chomping at the bit to snap someone's ankle?

Am I right in thinking that before a cup final in the 60s we fielded a weakened team and got heavily fined for it?

If so, shouldn't Swansea get fined too?

I believe that Webb has only awarded 3 pens all season - all to the RS. Seems bullets in the post DO work after all.

Someone mentioned in this thread that the rule got abolished? And rightly so, it's up to the manager who he wants to select.

mccarthy got fined for it last season? at OT. teams do it at the end of the season though when they have nothing to play for and it sometimes can effect the title or relegation. points deduction the next season would be a better way to overcome it if the FA thinks it's too much of a problem
