To be fair, there is probably a direct correlation between the amount of penalties you get and the amount of time you spend in the opponents box. Of which, they have been by far and away the best in the league.

Personally, I'm quite proud to say we are where we are with minimal help from the officials, albeit I don't go as far as some others who insist there is some conspiracy one way or another.

Suarez, Sturridge and Sterling do run at defenders with pace but, like Spurs, it seems like they've had more than a few 'fortunate' decisions this year that have helped to turn matches.

A very valid point, though had the Carroll incident cost them today I think you may have had some reds arguing to the contrary.

This whole argument about refs and pens. The vast majority of them have no idea about who is doing what to who - who is kidding who. Most of this is down to two things. Refs may not appreciate the nuances of the game as well as the current players and secondly it's down to not having adequate tools to make the right decisions (i.e. tv replays) - being hindered by not being in the perfect position (which the television camera offers).

yes. most of them are match winning pens. i.e. like games at OT at 0-0, 1-2 down at home to villa, can't remember the score, but when they were struggling vs stoke and onto a loss. last min vs fulham when they desperately needed it.

not saying they weren't pens, just that they have saved them many times in games this season, most probably because they have a mass of players who go looking for them.

ah well, like i said, if their "fans" can look upon this and still be proud of that team of cheats then fair play. stood with them through murder and racism, not going to stop at cheating.
