SS1, from 3.30pm to 8pm, wall-to-wall RS. Unbelieavable. And if they win it it'll be 10 times worse. And people call you a bad Evertonian if you'd rather they didn't win it even if it meant EVerton not finishing 4th!

So you would rather Everton finish out the top 4 so you don't have to watch some programs which you could easily turn off

I don't think your a bad blue I think your an awful one

Well there's no specific law that states its not a foul if the ball is touched regardless of how much contact there is on the player.

Surely you're familiar with the numerous fouls that given every week where players are deemed to have fouled an opponent despite getting some of the ball?

Fair enough if you think that touching the ball should mean its not a foul but FIFA disagree. They make the rules and the refs enforce them.

And those rules state that as Adrian tackled Flannagan carelessly its a foul, even though he touched the ball. If he'd have knocked it away cleanly it wouldn't have been a foul but as the contact was minimal it was.

It wasn't a pen mate. The only person who thought it was a pen was the ref....oh yeah and Rodgers. The keeper goes for the ball, gets the ball and unfortunately Flanagan goes down and the ref ( who can't actually see any of this ) hazards a guess that its a pen. Does the keeper intend to bring the player down? No. Does the keeper get the ball? Yes. No pen.

dont put yourselves through their games lads. we all know whats coming. I actually resisted the urge to watch it today. Just checked the score, laughed and got on with the day.

i wasn't planning on doing it - just came on after the everton match and couldn't be arsed to switch off. it has got to the case where i genuinely just laugh at all their luck. if their fans actually enjoy that nonsense then fair play, i know it's something i would never take any pride in enjoying, but there we go.

each to their own. still don't think they'll win the title mind you.

Keepers in particular have no option but to make contact with the player -- it's why they're allowed to use their hands when going for it. The keeper did everything right -- and within the rules (yours is not a quote but only an interpretation). It was a case quite simply of the ref evening things up after daring to allow the WHU goal. Only the Devil's Own team would get things rebalanced so quickly and so blatantly!

PS - if you want to see a cast iron penalty not awarded check out the foul on McGeady in the last minute today then tell me that Flanagan's was a deserved penalty in comparison.

I would have been fuming if that was us and we didn't get the pen. Flanagan still had a play on the ball after the keeper touched him and wouldn't let go of his leg.

Yeah, keepers get into situations liek that all the time. If they get enough on the ball to be deemed to have won it (ie clearly push it away from the attacker) its deemed fine, even if they subsequently trip the attacker.

But when they very lightly brush the ball with their hand without altering its course and then trip the attacker it will be a foul.

There's nothing in the rules about what deems "winning the ball", i'm just going on previous scenarios like mentioned above. However the rules do state that tripping an opponent is a foul if done in a manner considered careless.

And generally, in situations where keepers dive at attackers feet and trip them, if they don't get enough on the ball like Adrian didn't it will be awarded, if they get enough of the ball it won't

Its just personal opinion if you think any touch on the ball should mean its not a foul.

Ridiculous the way so many bang on about that lot. It's the reason this place has to be swerved at times because people let their hatred cloud their love of Everton.

We have Arsenal in our sights in what would top a [Poor language removed] excellent season yet people waste their time and energy moaning about that lot. [Poor language removed] em.

i see what he means like

its done now tho pointless complainin about it, especially given west hams goal. the ref should get dropped at the very least.

i do feel the ref was just evening it up, most games that wouldnt of been a pen whatever arguments u make. in real time im not sure anybody but the ref thought it was a pen.. slowmos can make a lot of decisions that look straight forward contentious

Which is exactly what he done when he sent Gibson and Carlton Cole off. All ref's make mistakes but when you're making errors like that and then trying to even them up, you do wonder how he's still reffing in the top league.

Hughton sacked, very bold move by Norwich with 5 games left. I must say this decision should have only be made if they have someone very good lined up. Who are the stand out candidates, do we reckon? Also would like to see Eddie Howe in the Premier League sooner or later, done a terrific job at Bournemouth, but this could be the wrong project for him.

I personally think Malky Mackay could really come in and galvanise them, legend in Norfolk and clearly feels hard done to after the whole experience with Mr Tan at Cardiff.

12 pens for the RS this season and we've had 2.

To be fair, there is probably a direct correlation between the amount of penalties you get and the amount of time you spend in the opponents box. Of which, they have been by far and away the best in the league.

Personally, I'm quite proud to say we are where we are with minimal help from the officials, albeit I don't go as far as some others who insist there is some conspiracy one way or another.
